“Hopefully the junior competition can also run because this is also for the sake of selection for the U-20 World Cup,” said the acting Secretary General of PSSI Yunus Nusi after the Executive Committee meeting (Exco) PSSI in Jakarta, Wednesday.
The junior competition which is expected to be rolled out in the League 1 Elite Pro Academy (EPA) U-16 and U-18 as well as the U-17 Soeratin Cup youth level tournament.
PSSI is indeed looking for players to be able to appear in the U-20 World Cup this year 2023 which will take place in Indonesia.
Currently. There is already a U-16 national team which is aged in the U-20 World Cup player category 2023. However, PSSI feels that they still need to find more other best players so that the Garuda youth team can talk a lot in the tournament.
