ACEHFOOTBALL.net – PSSI has not been able to confirm the training camp schedule (TC) U-22 national team which is in preparation for the SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam because the situation at home is uncertain due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Another TC is planned,” said the Technical Director of PSSI Indra Sjafri to Jakarta, Friday.
The uncontrolled spread of the SARS-COV-2 virus infection has also led the government to impose restrictions on community activities (PPKM) second volume in Java and Bali on 26 January-8 February 2021.
Previous, PPKM Java-Bali has been practiced in 11-25 January 2021. PPKM, one of the rules prohibits crowds in society, could continue to be extended if the cases of Covid-19 transmission remained high.
“We are living in a pandemic now. That's what makes TC preparation different from normal times,” said Indra Sjafri.
U-22 national team for the SEA Games 2021 previously had its first TC in December 2020 in Jakarta. In the TC, Coach Shin Tae-yong's squad was strengthened 36 player.
Meanwhile, PSSI is eager to win the gold medal in men's football at the SEA Games which was last held in 2015 1991.
Indonesia almost repeated this achievement at the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines after the team trained by Indra Sjafri qualified for the final. Unfortunately, at the top party, Egy Maulana and subordinate friends 0-3 from Vietnam.
