Jakarta () – Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali called on all parties to take care trust or public confidence in the future of football as artists and entrepreneurs enter football clubs.
“Central government, province, district / city, as well as asprov, askab, PSSI ascot must be able to take care of this,” Zainudin said during a virtual press conference, Friday night.
The press conference which was held from Yogyakarta was in the context of socializing Presidential Instruction No 3/2019 regarding the Acceleration of National Football Development.
“Now people are happy to watch our football because they see and believe our football is going in the right direction,” he said.
However, Amali reminded that if problems arise that injure football later on, public confidence will also drop.
“For example, suddenly there is a fight between players, it will lower trust public. coach one team with players, the referee is not neutral, score issues are set, etc,” he said.
Although difficult to prove, For example, the question of setting scores, he said, if it becomes a rumor or issue in the public, it will affect public trust.
“We hope that the football industry will progress with many parties starting to be interested in investing in football. But the government's obligation, the federation's duty to protect trust that,” said Zainudin.
He gave the example of the Menpora Cup 2021 which became a trial match in the midst of a pandemic, it turned out to have gained extraordinary public trust.

PSSI Deputy Chairperson Iwan Budianto agrees that public trust in Indonesian football, which is starting to grow, must be maintained.
